Plesk sites

Directory structure for sites in Plesk follow a convention.

Domains/Subscriptions

First of all, there are three different domains/subscriptions in the Plesk account:

bridgeschool.org

Hosted on 67.210.114.77 (shared). Hosts all bridgeschool.org sites except https://secure.bridgeschool.org

bridgeschool2.org

Hosted on 67.210.114.77 (shared). Hosts all bridgeschool2.org sites including https://secure.bridgeschool2.org

secure.bridgeschool.org

Hosted on 67.210.114.78 (dedicated). Hosts secure.bridgeschool.org (separate server because it requires dedicated host for SSL).

Directory Structure

Directory paths in Plesk follow one of two pattersn depending on whether the site is the main site for the domain or a subdomain site.

Main site

The main sites (i.e. bridgeschool.org, bridgeschool2.org, secure.bridgeschool.org) can be found in the following paths

/var/www/vhosts/{{ domain }}/httpdocs

E.g.

/var/www/vhosts/bridgeschool.org/httpdocs

Subdomain sites

The subdomain sites (e.g. selfdetermined.bridgeschool.org) can be found in the following paths:

/var/www/vhosts/{{ domain }}/{{ subdomain }}/httpdocs

E.g.

/var/www/vhosts/bridgeschool.org/selfdetermined.bridgeschool.org/httpdocs

In the case of the subdomain sites, Plesk does not create the httpdocs directory by default. That directory has been created manually for the purposes of code deployment (see the Deploy page).

This folder is also not the default directory that Plesk tries to serve the site from (for web server setup). You'll need to go into the Hosting Settings for the subdomain to make sure the document root is set the the address above (including the httpdocs directory).
